Covo Hills Farm

August 4 - 5, 2010 Cousin Jared conquers Covo

Cousin Jared starts his farm experience with the requisite trip to the Mississippi, followed by a spin on the tractor and ATV.

This is a pretty historical photo. It documents the last time we cooked a complete dinner on the original fire pit down in the campground. Katie and I had a little difficulty starting the fire, until Jared came to the rescue. Or so he thought. What really started it was the gasoline Jeff poured on the logs. Yeah, right? After all our trying with sticks, paper and multiple matches, that's all it took. Well worth it, if just for the corn.

The next day, Jared helped Jeff insulate the garage and learn how to cut and apply drywall.

Katie did the real and important work of single handedly assembling the grill that was purchased at Target with her employee discount.

Shooting Time

Don't know if anyone has ever climbed the corn crib before. Leave it to Jared to think it would be fun! Of course, Katie is not about to be outdone by her cousin at her farm.

Cash was happy to show off

his turtle before he became dinner.

August 1, 2010 Spiders lace an eerie sight

At the farm alone, Jeff took an early morning ATV ride and was amazed by this eerie sight.

July 21, 2010 Phoenix Friends

We take a day trip to the farm when Jerry and Lanie come to visit, with stops at the Mississippi and Poopy's for lunch on the patio. We rode ATV's and weeded the pumpkins a bit, no hard labor this time.

July 17 - 18 2010 Worker Bees and the Queen

Jake brings his strong friends out to work in exchange for cigars and beer... in moderation of course...there's a lady present.

Hope you had a good time boys cause now you get to move the old outhouse and dig a new hole.

Not tired yet? Ok, you can come in out of the heat and install old barn wood in the garage.

Where did they all go

Thanks, Mr. C

July 9 -10 2010 Family time at the farm

An excellent weekend to be at Covo Hills. Nick is home from Phoenix, Katie has the weekend off, Dan is here and joined on Sunday by Deena, Mitchell, Jessica and boyfriend Tyler.

There's lots of work to be done in the loft area and lots ot hands to do it.

Katie stains the new bench while Nick helps Jeff and Dan drywall in high places. Thank goodness there's three of them to keep each other safe, especially the one who's perched on a ladder that's positioned atop the scaffolding. Is that smart, guys?
