Dec. 3, 2015 December Visit - Hunting for a Christmas Tree

Dan went out to the farm with the remnants of snow on the cornfield and hills. The creek is flowing well and instead of looking barren, Covo has a different kind of beauty in the winter. The original evergreens down by the campground needed thinning out so one become the Voellinger's farm grown Christmas tree.

Ten Year Anniversary Addendum: Jessica and Tyler

Little did we know when the day began that it would end with a very special announcement. Tyler asked Dan for his daughter's hand in marriage, then proposed to Jessica, who of course, said YES. Tyler loves the farm as much as Jess. We always speculated that they would want to get married there, but with no running water and limited solar power, we'll forgive them for not doing so. That said Tyler is a great addition to the Covo family because he and his parents too have spent hours planting trees and enjoying the land. Congratulations!

October 3-4, 2015 Ten Year Anniversary Party

All the people who have enjoyed the farm over the years; and have helped in so many ways - from Arbor Day tree plantings to welcome contributions - were invited to celebrate Covo Hills Ten Year Anniversary on a sunny but seasonal autumn day. And what a great time it was with some hardy souls staying overnight to enjoy a campfire (with s'mores and fireworks, of course) and spend the night on beds, bunks, couches, air mattresses, in sleeping bags or wrapped up in blankets on the floor.  Daytime activities included bags, bocce, redneck bocce, golf, target shooting, ATV trail riding and tours on Darth Gator. Everyone received a Covo Ten-Year

Sept. 25-26, 2015 Trees Galore

Evergreen and hardwood trees of different varieties are cropping up all around the farm from different planting seasons; some professionally done by machine and others tenderly put into the ground by the many friends who have supported our Arbor Day efforts.  We hope they all take pride in what they have accomplished and how they have helped to reforest the land.

Cat tails have sprouted up in the ponds for the first time ever.  Fall is in the air: the cornfields and pumpkin vines are on the wane and the grasses are changing to a more golden color. The trees can't be far behind.
