Late March 2007 - Tractor Delivery

Jeff was driving cross country back to Chicago in January when he got word about a used tractor for a good price in Michigan, courtesy of Curt and J.R.  Walter, cousin Ramona's husband and father respectively. They delivered the John Deere in late March with Palmer as their guide to the farm.

Palmer, who has a collection of miniature John Deere trucks and tractors, is thrilled to drive a man-sized one and check out all the cool features.

Jeff is pretty happy about the tractor, but can't wait until it has a proper shelter, not some old dilapidated hay barn that could shake down at any moment!

Early March 2007 - Marking the Spot

Nick is getting pretty good with the shovel.
He dug the firepit, the hole for the outhouse and now he's moving earth for the gravel floor of our first new farm building.  What a way to spend spring break!
